I would personally have a look at how this is done on the OpenCMS website (they use the same type of dropdowns). Just do a view source and have a look at the included javascript files, as well as the HTML code for the boxes and their links.

Subject: [opencms-dev] nav bar help please
Hi, our new site is up and it is fabulous, thanks to all the opencms family. Our company, http://www.dataforceone.com appreciates it.
Please help. The nav bar drop downs do not hold the hover for a user to select a menu item. When the mouse hovers on the main nav bar category then goes to select the drop down the menu disappears to fast.
Please advise as to how we can make the menu more sticky.
Best Regards,
James Romano
