An OpenCms Eclipse plugin to do the work of the workspace editor would
be great. I wouldn't advocate getting rid of the current web based
interface, but it would be a nice alternative for those who interact
with an OpenCms server over a low bandwidth link.
I think it might help if OpenCms was to de-couple the content store
from the main OpenCms application and have a very narrow and well
defined API into this store. Writing 3rd party apps that interact with
the store would be easier and the upgrade process would be easier
also.
