[opencms-dev] Template editors?

Hi,

you can use jsp wysiwyg editors and set the classpath to opencms jar and
lib files to take advantage of intelli fucnctions, I know about Nitrox
and InelliJ IDEA which are well suited for such functionalities, but I
stick with UltraEdit and Eclipse, but for serious development only
IntelliJ is the right solution for us :-)

Kind Regards,
Arash

Hi,

why don't you use the synchronize feature? This "copies" the template
files to your local hard drive. Now you can use any editor you like.

I guess something like that - OpenCMS is wonderful as a page editor but
when it comes to actually laying out the site (like using modified
versions of the TemplateOne templates) you have to fall back to editing
the XML layouts directly.

Onother quirk - I have a number of pages with forms & javascript in them
where editing the page ends up with the javascript getting corrupted -
the " characters get replaced with &quot and other oddities (like the
form onsubmit calls getting replicated and enclosed in {} - this happens
every time the page gets editied so you end up with multiple onsubmit
statements). Editing the page with the "edit controlcode" function
doesn't cause corruption.

Cheers,
Phil.

I'm not clear what you mean by "template editor"...

Joe.
