[opencms-dev] design question

In the process of designing a site in OpenCms I'm thinking about
creating objects that represent the menu bar of the main
page. 

Then I would construct a jsp page that enumerates the menu bar objects.

Where in the OpenCms tree would I put such objects and what type would I give
such an object?

Why isn't there the type "Object" in the new to create resource types?
