The planned release date for 6.2 is end of _Q1_ 2006.

Some other 6.2 features (a very incomplete list...):
* Multiple selection of files in the Explorer GUI (great if you want to
delete/copy/move these 15 files...)
* Native integration of FCKEditor
* FCKEditor (or selected editor) also used in XML Content HTML fields
* Option to add link / gallery dialog buttons to XML Content HTML fields
* Search Index Management GUI for Admins
* Optional 'Content nofification' function sends Emails if a content is
about to expire
* Added several options to make it easier to generate accessible web pages
* New "Content check" Administration tool
* New option to 'direct publish' a folder without it's contents
* New <cms:decorate> tag for parsing and decorating HTML content
Kind Regards,
Alex.

Could anyone give me quick list of the additional features and
improvements in 6.2? All I can think of at the moment are better image
manipulation and management (through simapi), and the file version diff
which Alexander mentioned.
