[opencms-dev] Browser window closed upon successfull login.

I've had a similar report (at least as far as IE goes). As far as the 
user (not a techie) reports there are no pop-up blockers or 
virus/spyware. She actually gets logged in, but as you state the window 
disappears.
I've also witnessed problems on another PC running a korean version of 
XP, but it would work with Firefox (actually IE disappeared complete and 
had to be started again).
So far I have attributed it to be some kind of problem on the particular 
PC (due to some malware), but I have not had access to the particular 
machines so I haven't been able to confirm this.

Are you doing any rewrite/proxying, what version are you running? Are 
there any stuff in the logs and do the user actually gets logged in (you 
can see logged in users in the administration - workplace tools - 
broadcast...)
