[opencms-dev] WYSIWIG Editors be it FCK or be it HTML area, both suck

The HTML area editor isn't used in newer OpenCms releases anyway,
the current version (6.2.1) uses the FCK Editor.
Now the ladies in our office who were used to the HTML area editor are
complaining (under 6.0.4 where I installed the FCK Editor) that the editor
doesn't obey the changes they do to a page contents.
I observed indeed that page element that contained a lot of
paragraphs and blockquote tags, appeaed to be quite garbled.
A lot of nested blockquote
blockquote
blockquote
blockquote
blockquote
blockquote
were to be seen, while the contents in the siblings element was ok.
I told her to cut/paste the portion of the sibling into the other contents
and replace the bad code totally (which had quite of lot of hand-editing
as the consequence).
I'm sure next time I'll not get away that easy.
So what would be a solution? Take an external html editor? Which one?
OTOH I would consider it quite clumsy to always have to cut/paste
from an external editor into OpenCms (which probably has other drawbacks
I cannot foresee at the moment).
Is there an update to the FCK Editor ? Or a better solution?
