by the way: somebody has also implemented a FTP extension module, which 
allows up- and downloading of files directly from the CMS and I think it 
also allows changing opencms-specific file properties by manipulating 
some special pseudo-files via FTP.

I haven't tested it though, although some people seem to use it to 
publish their code from eclipse directly into opencms,
check out the mailing list archive to find references to this extension 
and the site where it's kept.
