[opencms-dev] how to use CmsJspTagEditable ?

It's what implements the <cms:editable> tag which you make sure is executed
in the <head> element of a page on which there may be editable content. It
renders itself as a series of Javascript functions which allow later
direct-edit-button-producing code to register those buttons and have them
submit create/edit/delete instructions back to the server.

Am I wrong in thinking that CmsJspTagEditable allows us to generate
edit/delete/new buttons for editing xml content?
I've been poking around the method includeDirectEditElement, as it feels
like it might do just that... but I'm not at all sure if I'm using it
correctly.
