Hi arian,
You should post your environment first.
I guess you're integrating apache and tomcat by proxy method. If so, the
header information will be lost.
I think mod_jk is better choice for apache/tomcat integration. Try it.
You'll get the info you want.

Sorry I don't see what is the issue with proxying, if tomcat is
configured correctly to be "proxy-aware"
