Hello Michael,

I've initially applied the patches as described in the mailing list, build the application, deployed the 
OpenCms war file on tomcat (using the installer), and at the end deployed it on websphere.
So the complex setup stuff was done on Apache Tomcat.

I am using Websphere 6.01; Now with Websphere 6.1 (Java 5) you have the possibility to use the Java 5 from 
SUN. Then it should work without major Java 1.4 problems.

Which startup error exactly do you have? Wich Websphere version do you use?
