[opencms-dev] "org.opencms.frontend.templateone.modules" tags

Does anyone know the significance of the <%-- at the end of each line and
the the --%> at the beginning of the next line.

Is it need, does it do anything special?

I see it alot in the org.opencms.frontend.templateone.modules jsp pages.
