[opencms-dev] OpenCMS 7.02 sub-OU groups/users +r+v permissions not taking effect, only root groups/users +r+v permissions work

I am trying to set permissions to restrict access to sections of a site.  By
setting permissions for 'all others' to blank and then setting +r+v
permissions on any root Organizational Unit (OU) group or user things work
fine, allowing access only to those users or groups and preventing the
public from entry.  However, if I do this same operation on a sub OU the
+r+v sub OU group/user permissions do not seem to have effect, resulting in
restricted access for anybody NOT in the root OU.  Any help, feedback or
ideas, please.  

 

Btw - running OpenCMS 7.02, Tomcat 6.0.14, Apache 2.2, JDK1.6, MySQL 5.1.
