[opencms-dev] OpenCMS minimum requirements

I agree with Marc - especially if you have a DB or other stuff running on the machine, then you should better go for 1GB to have some breathing space.

You can tune the garbage collector to not keep much reserve memory and limit the memory usage of other Applications and then things might be squeezable into 512MB, but it would sure be a bit tight and as a garbage-collected system, Java does not react well at all to being partially swapped out by the OS.
