[opencms-dev] Disable content-conversion globally for an openCMS site?

I've poured over what documentation I could find on this, but the
"content=conversion" property/task seems to be one of the biggest enigmas
openCMS has to offer... Is there a way to globally set openCMS (7.0.5) so
that for an entire site, any content - currently existing or to be created
in the future- will be forced to use the value

content-conversion : false

?

All I could find in the wiki/list archive are references to changing these
setting on individual files/folders (at the content creator level) or
changes to individual document types (at the admin level). Is there a global
way to change this behavior (short of editing the source code)?
