Thank you for your answer.

This is a completely new server runnning the latest Ubuntu, jdk, tomcat, opencms :-)

Btw - sending emails to groups via Workplace tools -> Broadcast works fine.

It seems like apache mail has been upgraded in V8 - maybe ? The source code for the newsletter module in cvs, is that the latest version ? And where can i find the sources for V8 - i was looking for a release tag in cvs ?

we have not tested the newsletter module with OpenCms 8 so far, but we 
are working on the OAMP modules to make them compatible with OpenCms 8

However I tested the OAMP webform module which uses the same mail 
function like the newsletter and there it did work.
Did you try this on a fresh OpenCms 8 installation or an updated one? 
MAybe there are some old class references in the tomcat work folder, so 
you should clean it.

tells you how to access the cvs

To check out the OAMP modules use "cvs checkout alkacon"
