[opencms-dev] database grows when resources are deleted

hi list,

i'm using ocms 8.5 and mysql 5.5 on windows. 
i've noticed today that the database tables cms_offline_resources.myd and cms_resources.myd are growing when i delete resources, e. g. deleting a gigabyte of resources enlarges both tables for 1 gigabyte (cms_online_resources.myd is shrinking as expected).
is this behaviour by intention? and if so, why?
