[opencms-dev] upload.jar blocked?

I realized that the uploader applet upload.jar causes a security warning in the browser and will probably be completely blocked as of January 2014, as described at https://blogs.oracle.com/java-platform-group/entry/new_security_requirements_for_rias.

Obviously, the applet is required to be signed and have the "Permissions" attribute set within the Manifest.

Will there be an update for the applet, or how am I going to fix that?
