[opencms-dev] Pre-filling a field with a generated value

Hi Daniel,
In the scope of the file, each item has a unique path - the xpath. Would that work for you?
If not, a custom widget would surely do the trick, but might be a little overkill. (Not sure, maybe somebody else has a better suggestion.)
Cheers,
Paul

Hello everybody

Since a few days I unsuccessfully try to pre-fill a field of a nested XML Content with a generated value (uuid).

Whenever a user clicks the '+'-Symbol to add a element to the collection of nested content, a (readonly) field should be pre-filled with a unique random generated UUID.

Does anybody know if this or something similiar is possible with OpenCms 9 or does anybody have an idea how I can uniquely identify an item from a collection of nested XML content?

I already tried to solve this case with default values but did not get any useable solution.

Please ask me if my requirement is unclear or if you need more informations.

Thank you in advance for every hint or help.

Kind Regards

Daniel
