[opencms-dev] why jdk and not jre

Hi,
In the installation guide i have read "You must install the Java *JDK*
(Java Development Kit), not the *JRE* (Java Runtime Environment) ".
I have tested that openCMS 10.5.0 with the jre has errors. Why the JRE is
*not* sufficient to run OpenCms?
