[opencms-dev] WYSIWYG Editor & Images issue

Hi All,

Our users are concerned about the WYSIWYG editor's handling of image
uploads: If they browse for an image from their local machine, the file
references gets written into the HTML file as something like src
="/ocms5beta/opencms/NewDir/C:/Documents and
Settings/mfoley5/Desktop/desktop3/chart.gif" which is not what is wished
for.

Uploading the image as an image file to the same directory as the Html
file, then typing the name of the image instead of browsing for the image
results in the following reference: src="file://chart.gif" which is
incorrect because it is referencing a local file, not a server file.

We have recommended to our users that they add images to a gallery, and add
images to pages from the gallery, but they are not happy.

Also, if the image filename the user attempts to add to the gallery has a
space in the filename (e.g. "CSL Stock Chart.gif") then the upload fails
with a "CmsException - 3 bad name".

Is anobody looking at these issues?

Thanks,
Mark

Mark Foley
