The filelist in 5.0 is generated by the class
com.opencms.workplace.CmsNewExplorerFileList and a complex Javascript
that resides in the OpenCms VFS in
/system/workplace/scripts/explorer.js. 

Customizing this is ... difficult.

For future major relases of OpenCms the filelist will be generated by a
different class and a different javascript.

Does anyone know how I could customize the explorer view? I want to add
an on/off icon for each piece of content in the explorer view. I tried
editing the method getFilelist() inside CmsFileList, but  the trial
change & System.err.println statement didn't produce anything. If this
isn't the method to produce the explorer_files list, then where is it? 

All tips,suggestions and comments are welcome!
