[opencms-dev] External Reference: Suggestion?

Hello,

I have a servlet which is external to the OpenCms system, but needs to be 
able to perform OpenCms tasks. Once I have a reference to the cms object, 
then calling its functions is quite straight forward. Is there a standard / 
recommended way to create a new OpenCms() reference? The servlet is 
physically stored on the same machine as the OpenCms product.

Suggestions?
