[opencms-dev] Installation Issues With Mac OS X

I'm new to CMS and am trying to install opencms on my laptop with little
success.
I'm using: OS X 10.2.6, java 1.4.1_01, tomcat 4.1.18, mysql 4.0.13,
Safari
1.0(v85).

I can get the .war to expand and pull up the OpenCms Setup Wizard without
problem.

I have MySQL selected, DCS User = root, password empty, OpenCms Connection
root, password empty, Connection String is jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/
and Database is opencms.  Create database and tables is checked.

Clicking continue I get a Creating database... Failed with the following
error:

Could no connect to database via: jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/
java.sql.SQLException: Invalid authorization specification: Access denied
for user: 'root at localhost' (Using password: NO)

I'm checking into the MySQL side to see if there is something I erred
while configuring it.

I proceeded forward and placed a password into the DCS and OpenCms
Connection and hit continue and proceed to the warning regarding the
database being dropped and I clicked Yes.
I click continue after everything is ok, then get the green light that
my componenets are working properly.

I click continue and am promted to import workplace.  I click Yes.  I have
not installed CMS before so I click no for the directory translation then
hit continue.

This brings me to the Status: screen.  However nothing obvious is
happening.  The <<Back and Continue>> buttons don't appear to do anything.
I can hit Canel which brings me to a screen indicating Setup Canceled
followed by Click here to restart setup, however clicking that does
nothing so I proceed again from the beginning.

Now when I get the the Status: screen, I click underneath the the text box
right underneath and hit enter and it brings me to the ActiveX page.  I
click the I have understood... box and then click Finish.

I am now on the OpenCms setup finished page.  The wizard is locked etc.  I
click to start OpenCms.
I get an HTTP Status 400-
type Status report
message <empty>
description The requsted resource() is not available.

I've checked my directories and have not come accross
opencms/opencms/index.jsp structure anywhere.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
