why not :-) Opencms is GPL as i know so you can do this.
But last week there was a little discussion here in the List with a core
Developer from Opencms, Alexander Kandzior from Alkacon.com.

no, actually there is a Module for Lucene Integration into Opencms. This
is stable enough for production i think.
