i read your post und you`re right. This is one big improvement and should
be integrated in the new mechanism, so we will send you the sources when
we`re completely finished and if this works as you expect you can
integrate it completly, which means just a refactoring from the module
classes into the opencms.module.core and add 3 jakarta-commons libs.
What did we excactly... we built a module which includes the classes for
the upload-event which is included actually in the module-mechanism. There
is one controller-class and this class parses the
module-upload-config-file.xml and build tasks for the other classes. The
other helper-classes mostly uses opencms-api methods to make things like i
wrote in the last post. That`s the magic.
There is a xsd file which is used to check if the xml-config-file is correct.

Hope this helps a bit to speed up the new module-mechanism!
