Eduard / Steve,
We are experimenting importants performance problems with our Opencms /
SQL Server 2000 enviroment. The navigation in the Opencms Administration
System and the Web is extremly slow.
We measured the difference between the same installation with SQL Server
and MySQL and MySQL is at least six times faster than SQL Server. In some
web pages with SQL Server it takes 30 seconds or more to receive results
of the web page.
Eduard, Steve: I can see that your enviroment is very similar as our
enviroment so I'm wondering if you have the same problems of performance
in your installation or if you solved them.
Eduard: You mentioned some changes in the Code ¿Do these changes solved
the performance problem? If so, ¿It would be possible that you send us
those changes? You and Steve are the only ones that we know that use
OpenCms / SQL Server enviroment.
We're now trying now to transform every query of "mssql/query.properties" file in Store Procedures of SQL Server as it was suggested by Geoff Winkless in the post:
http://mail.opencms.org/pipermail/opencms-dev/2004q1/009576.html
But we don't know if it will solve the problem. The performance problems
seems to be in the "Image Type" (BLOBS) Columns of the Database Table.
Also we would like to know if you think that there is any other choice for
solving this importante performance problem with SQL Server 2000.
Thanks in advanced. Next you can see the details of our installation:

Asunto: Re: [opencms-dev] Help with OpenCms with SQL Server Install! (Opencms 5.0)
Hi Steve,
I have installed OpenCMS 5.0.1 of MS SQL Server. I had to modify some
code and properties files. If you want I can send you the working WAR
file. In installs without problem. The only thing you may need to do is
to create additional indexes on the tables after you get some
statistics. Other then that is works fine for me.

be working, except that some of the folder duplicate themselves in the
directory tree (and the ones that do don't function correcty). I've looked
in the archives and found others who have changed the query.properties
file for SQL Server in the opencms.jar file. While this has fixed the
invalid parameter error I was getting before (and I don't have the
triplicate error either), I'm stuck with these duplicate folders.
