Have you tried connecting to the network share from the command line via 
"net use"? What error message do you get if you try to do so?

I found an article which may be related to the problem at 
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2686098 , it seems that for some file 
servers, you may need to disable the "Secure Negotiate" feature
by setting the RequireSecureNegotiate option to 0 under 
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters 
in the registry. Would you mind trying this out?
